Anne Hailes MBE
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Anne Hailes MBE, will now replace Gloria Hunniford for the broadcast and Mulberry meal on Thursday 22nd August 2019. At Mulberry she will talk about her career highlights, interests and charity work.
Anne Hailes MBE
The well-known broadcaster Anne Hailes, was recognised for her services to journalism, broadcasting and to the community in Northern Ireland with an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List in 2016. She has worked in the industry for over five decades.
Having entered Ulster Television at the age of 17, Anne went on to work for media organisations across the spectrum.
Over the years, she has also covered the Troubles for the BBC World Service and made documentaries for RTÉ. She has also written for the Sunday World, News Letter, Belfast Telegraph and Daily Mirror.
For over 20 years, she has written for The Irish News with her columns attracting a devoted following and remaining one of the newspaper's most popular elements.
Anne was also awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in June 2013.
She is greatly looking forward to her appearance at the Charles Wood Festival and Summer School.
