Young Performers’ Concert Series Returns

The Charles Wood Festival are thrilled to begin 2023 with the return of their Young Performers’ Concert Series, after a long absence as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first concert will be on Friday 6 January at 8pm in the Reid Hall, Armagh Royal School.

The concert will feature two very gifted singers - Eílis Fox and Owen Lucas. Eílis is studying for a master’s degree in Music, and Owen was recently crowned winner of 12th Glenarm Festival of Voice.

Two superb instrumentalists will also be taking part: Samuel Kane and Jamie Howe. Jamie is a former 6th-form pupil at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, and is currently in his third year at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is also a former principal viola in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Samuel is studying the violin at the Royal College of Music in Manchester and has just reached the final of a prestigious concerto competition in the college.

Admission is free, but there will be an opportunity to make a voluntary donation to help the work of the Charles Wood Festival and Summer School. A light supper will be provided after the concert and we look forward to seeing you at what promises to be a most enjoyable evening.
