Bass Scholarship 2023

Donncha McDonagh

This year, the Charles Wood Festival is offering 4 free scholarship places for singers from the island of Ireland to join the Charles Wood Singers. This year's bass scholar is Donncha McDonagh.

Donncha is an early-career baritone and choral conductor based in Dublin. Trained in sacred choral music from a young age, he has sung with ensembles including Sestina, Lassus, and regularly with the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. He is currently Conductor of the Trinity College Dublin Chapel Choir, and is looking forward to beginning full-time vocal studies in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin in September.
