Junior Finalist: Madalena Tomé
Today we introduce our fourth Junior Class finalist, Madalena Tomé.
Madalena is in the second year of her degree in Singing at the University of Aveiro with Isabel Alcobia.
She began her studies at the Conservatório Regional de Música de Vila Real (CRMVR) in the Viola d'Arco class of Alice Neves. In 2015 she began singing lessons with Joana Valente. In 2019 she joined the Saxophone class of Miriam Aneiros Muiño. She participated in the Mixed Choir directed by Professor Mónica Pais and in chamber music groups such as the quartet and quintet of voices, and the trio of piano, soprano and clarinet.
In 2019 she participated, at CRMVR, in the Musica Ricercata organized by the teacher/composer Angela da Ponte with Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Frederic Cardoso and Fernando Lapa.
She has performed at Masterclasses with Isabel Alcobia, António Salgado, Mireia Pintó, Juhan Tralla and Juan Lomba, with whom she also participated in the International Course of Vocal Music 2022.
She was a soloist in the premiere of the opera Matria by Fernando Lapa, directed by Jan Wierzba. She was also a soloist in the opera The Little Sweep by Benjamin Britten, accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Beiras, under the musical direction of Juliana Sousa Santos.
